How to Backup iMessages/SMS to iCloud

iMessages and Text Messages are really important to iOS device users. iCloud provides the service to backup your iMessages and text messages to cloud. 1. Backup iMessages/SMS to iCloud

Step 1. Connect your iOS device to Wi-Fi network

2. How to Save iMessages and SMS to iCloud on iOS 11.4

One of the most important feature in iOS 11.4 is saving messages to iCloud instead of on your device. After enabling messages in iCloud option, all the messages including iMessages and SMS will be saved on iCloud rather than your iPhone, iPad and iPod touch.

Step 1. Update to iOS 11.4

Go to “Settings” > “General” > “Software Update” and update your iOS device to iOS 11.4

Step 2. Enable Two-Factor Authentication

Go to “Settings” > “Your Name” > “Password & Security” and select “Turn on Two-Factor Authentication” option.

Step 3. Save Messages in iCloud

On your iOS device and go to “Settings” > “Apple ID” > “iCloud” > “Messages”. From now on, your iPhone or iPad messages will be saved to your iCloud but not your iOS devices. This will save iOS storage.

Step 1. Run iOS Data Backup and Restore program

Run this program and select “iOS Data Backup & Restore” option on the main interface. On the next interface, select “iOS Data Backup” option.

Step 2. Backup Messages to Computer

Select “Standard Backup” or “Encrypted Backup” according to your case. If you select “Encrypted Backup”, please remember the passcode for your backup file. If you lose or forget it, you won’t able to restore your iOS device with it.
