Tips of Using Safari on iPhone and iPad

The original mobile browser on iOS devices is Safari. If you use it a lot, this article will make you a pro user of it. In this article, I will introduce you some tips and tricks when you are using Safari. You can learn how to pin favorite websites to home screen, mark up and share web pages, juggle the saved web passwords and how to use Safari as a dictionary and more. Now let’s talk about iOS Safari.

1. Auto Optimize Website

When you visit a website with your iOS device, if the website is not optimized for mobile phone, it will be really hard to read. But don’t worry! The mobile version of Safari has a built-in reader mode for you. It will automatically reformat the article and make it really easy for you to read. You can even change the font and back ground color. Tap “aA” button on the address bar and then pick a new font face, size and background.

2. Mark Up Any Webpage

When we are reading news or article and want to share with our friends with markups, you can easily do that with Safari now. Go to the page and click Action button. Tap create PDF button and you can select the blue markup button and begin to markup.

3. Check Saved Password

Safari can help you to save the account and password for the websites which you always visit. If you want, you can check and delete the saved passwords easily on your device. Go to “Settings” > “Account & Passwords” > “App & Website Passwrods”. You can see a list of saved Safari passwords on your iOS device. You can pick any of them to view and make any changes. To delete password, you need to go to the “App & Website Passwords” section and tap edit button on the top-right corner of the screen. Select the passwords you want to delete and click “Delete” button.

4. Use Safari As Dictionary

If there is an obscure word when you are reading with Safari, you don’t need to copy and paste it to Google. You can easily select that word and tap “Look up” option in the list. A slide window will appear with the definition of the word and more searches suggested by Siri.

5. Favorite A Website

If you like a website, you probably save it as a bookmark on Safari. But there is an easier way to remember this site. You can “favorite” it and find it easier next time you want to visit it. Go to the website you want to favorite, tap “Action” button on the bottom of the screen and click “Add to Favorites” button.

6. Recover Deleted Safari Bookmarks

If you accidentally delete bookmarks from Safari on iPhone/iPad, you can use iPhone Data Recovery program to get back. This program can scan your iPhone deeply and find the deleted or lost Safari Bookmarks on it. You can preview them and recover deleted Safari Bookmarks from iPhone to computer. You don’t need to have backup file for your iOS devices at all.
